CLACK® ORGANIC SCAVENGER UNIT (PEATY WATER)
Wateq’s organic scavenger units reduce the discolouration of water by removing organics present
in the raw water. Discolouration in water is extremely common in private water supplies, most
commonly as iron and manganese. However if the incoming raw water is low in iron and
manganese and you are still encountering discoloured water then this is likely a result of elevated
organic levels, referred to as tannins. Tannins are a result of water passing though peaty water and
decaying vegetation.
Our Organic Scavenger units come complete with two different types of anion selective resins
specifically designed to reduce tannins. Please be aware that these units require a larger dose of
sodium for regenerations and regeneration is typically based from an onsite assessment of the
severity of the water.
These units are always recommended as the final stage of filtration. If you require any advice on
